Madrid, Spain

No coffee. Just pure adrenaline.
See notes below.

We’ll start by saying that today was one of the worst days in memory. We woke up to a delayed voicemail from our storage company that our container had been robbed. Yup, some mo’ fo’s swiped it clean of anything worth re-selling, taking with them some irreplaceable and special things 🖕. We spent the entire morning and afternoon waiting for the East Coast to wake up and made a flurry of phone calls to deal with what had happened.

Our dear friends, Kerri and Jeff, instructed us to, “Shake it off and be in the present tense.” It was so hard to do that, but we had realized that what better way than to follow our Selfie Schtick rules: go get a cocktail. We trotted off to the Malasaña neighborhood, as recommended by our Monocle Travel Guide, Madrid and had a few cañas of Mahou. Took a quick trip to the espadrille store - 🤑. And then ended up at The Passenger Bar, where at 10PM was completely empty. José hooked us up with some cocktails and we mulled over our sorrows. Well, not entirely. We nodded to “Had to Cry Today” and tried to get in the present tense as best we could.
